The County Council decided in December last year, for economic reasons, to cut bus services in the county from May 1, 2025. When the decision was made, the bus companies were contacted, and they have adjusted staffing based on the decision to cut routes and made vacation plans.

Last week, the county council met in Geiranger, and in the matter of the 2025 budget amendment, they decided to reverse the decision from December regarding the cut in the route offer.

During the processing of the case on Thursday, the County Chief Executive asked for understanding that the bus companies need time to adjust staffing to increase route production again.

Now FRAM announces that the planned cuts in the route offer will be carried out, but only from 1 May to 18 August, when the companies have had time to adapt to the new decision. From that date and until the end of the year, the buses will run as they do today.

The "train bus" between Ålesund and Åndalsnes has been included in the cut plans, but will run as normal throughout 2025.
