Zones and zone map

Møre and Romsdal county is divided into seven zones for bus travel. In addition there is one zone in Vestland county and eight zones in Trøndelag county that are included in the FRAM zone structure. When you buy a ticket, you pay for the number of zones your trip goes through. This applies when you travel within Møre and Romsdal and when you travel into or out of Trøndelag or Vestlant. The maximum number of zones for a trip, is nine.

Price calculation, zone map and zone overview

The price of your ticket is calculated based on how many zones your trip include. There is a base price for the first zone and an addition for each extra zone your trip includes.

Søre Sunnmøre (Sunnmøre South): Vanylven, Volda, Ørsta, Hareid, Ulstein, Herøy, Sande
Indre Sunnmøre (Inner Sunnmøre): Stranda, Fjord, Sykkylven
Ålesund: Ålesund, Sula, Giske, Haram (separate municipality from 2024)
Molde: Vestnes, Aukra, Molde, Hustadvika
Romsdal: Rauma

Travelling into or out of Møre and Romsdal

Trips into and out of Trøndelag county

Former Halsa municipality and Rindal municipality are defined as part of zone Nordre Nordmøre (Nordmøre North) even if these areas are now part of the municipalities in Trøndelag county.

In the other parts of Trøndelag there are additional FRAM zones for buses towards Trondheim and Oppdal. The pricing structure is the same as for trips in Møre and Romsdal. When you travel from Møre and Romsdal into these zones or from these zones into Møre and Romsdal, you pay for the total number of zones that you travel in on your trip, in the same way as for trips in Møre and Romsdal.

If you have one of our “county tickets” - FRAM Vaksen, FRAM Ung or FRAM Student, you can use this for trips in former Halsa and Rindal municipalities. For trips in the other zones in Trøndelag you must buy an additional ticket for the distance that takes place in Trøndelag.

Trips into and out of Vestland county

On FRAM buses to and from Nordfjordeid and Stryn and Skyss line 110 to and from Stryn you pay for one additional zone when you travel into or out of Vestland.

FRAM prices apply the whole distance for the following bus lines:

351 Volda-Nordfjordeid
250 Ålesund-Stryn
110 Stryn - Ålesund (Skyss)

You can buy a FRAM period ticket for these distances.

The county tickets - FRAM Vaksen, FRAM Ung and FRAM Student, do not apply outside for Møre and Romsdal. If you have one of these tickets, you must buy an additional ticket for the part of the trip that goes in Vestland county.

Travelling with Vy commercial express lines

If you are travelling on Vy’s commercial express bus lines between Møre and Romsdal and Vestland you must buy the ticket from Vy. FRAM tickets do not apply for these services.

There is an exception for two departures with VY 430 Bergen-Ålesund-Bergen:

Vy 430 from Ålesund 11.00 towards Bergen
Vy 430 from Bergen 08.00 towards Ålesund

For these departures you can buy a FRAM ticket for the distance Ålesund-Nordfjordeid and you can use period tickets from FRAM.
