1060 Åfarnes–Sølsnes: Partially closed, starting on the night until 4 April

From the night until 4 April, work to prepare the ferry connection between Åfarnes and Sølsnes for electric operation will continue. This means that the ferry connection will be partially closed at nights until 5 May.

The Åfarnes–Sølsnes connection is scheduled to be electrified in 2024. Infrastructure and charging towers on land have already been prepared, and in March, work began on programming communication between the ferry and the land infrastructure. The work was not completed by Easter as planned, so it will continue from the night until 4 April. It is planned that the work will last until 5 May, and the connection will be closed between 00:00 and 03:30 during this period. Emergency trips will be conducted as usual.

During the programming process, one of the two ferries must remain at the ferry dock and be connected to the charging tower. This is why the connection will be closed during programming.

FRAM encourages travellers to find updated timetables in the journey planner on this website or in the FRAM app. The timetable is also available as a PDF on this website, on the site for ferry timetables in Møre and Romsdal, under the tab labelled “Timetables for ferries in Romsdal.”

The detour route to and from the eastern part of the country will be via the Vestnes–Molde ferry connection or E39 Dombås–Oppdal–Molde.
