Frequently asked questions about the app, online store, prices and zones

Here are a few steps you can try:

1. Restart the app: Close the app completely and open it again.
2. Restart your phone: Turn your phone off and on again.
3. Update the app: Check if you have the latest version of the app in the App Store or Google Play.
4. Log out and log in again: Sign out of the app completely and then sign back in.

We recommend enabling automatic updates in your phone settings.

In the FRAM app, real-time departures are marked with a green dot in front of them. If there is no green dot, the time shown is the scheduled time.

To see the scheduled time for a real-time departure, you can tap on it and the planned time will be shown with a strikethrough.

If you wish to delete your account, you can do so in the app. Go to My Profile and then select Edit My Profile. There, you will find a button labeled Delete My Profile.

Note: Do not delete your profile if you have active tickets. Use your tickets first, or contact customer service if you are entitled to a refund. Active tickets will be lost if you delete your profile.

No, it is not possible to add money to an account in the FRAM app. We are waiting for a solution from a third party for this.

However, you can buy tickets and send them to others through the FRAM app. You can find more information on how to do this in the app.

You can also purchase period tickets on behalf of others in the FRAM online store.

You can delete and manage your favorites under the My Profile tab in the app.

For departures between Ålesund and Nordfjordeid, FRAM and VY have a ticketing partnership. Currently, we do not have a technical solution in the FRAM app for these routes. For departures where the route number starts with "VY," you can either buy a ticket through the VY app if you wish to pay in advance, or you can pay when you board the bus. The fare will be the same as if you had paid in the FRAM app. FRAM’s pricing applies to the section between Nordfjordeid and Ålesund, and there is no need to book in advance for this segment.

If the other person already has a travel card linked to their own customer profile with FRAM, we recommend that they use their tickets until they expire. Once all their tickets have expired, they can delete the travel card from their profile.

After that, you can add the other person as a new individual in your own profile and link their travel card there. You will then be ready to purchase new tickets on behalf of that person.

If you lose your ticket, we can only assist you if your card is registered with us. A travel card purchased on the bus is an unregistered card, so you need to register it afterward for us to assist you in case you lose it.

When you register your card yourself through the online store, you will need to answer a verification question to confirm that the card belongs to you. Please follow the instructions provided in the online store to complete the registration process.

You can purchase tickets for up to 10 other people from your own profile.

Private individuals: It is no longer possible for private individuals to send items with our buses due to safety and delivery time.

Businesses: Businesses can send packages with FRAM's buses and express boats using prepaid shipping labels.

As a passenger, you always travel for free on ferries in Møre og Romsdal. Additionally, several ferry routes in the county are free for vehicles as well.

If you have a period ticket in Ålesund and need to travel to Kristiansund, for example, you should purchase a single ticket for the zones beyond Ålesund. This means you will need to buy single tickets for the Molde and Kristiansund zones as well.

Remember to validate your single ticket when you pass the zone border, especially if you purchased the ticket in the app.

Example for adult within 1 zone:
If you travel more than five times within a zone per week, it is more economical to purchase a period ticket instead of single tickets.

Single ticket 50 NOK x 5 trips x 4 weeks = 1000 NOK.

Period ticket 30 days costs 877 NOK.

Example for adult within 2 zones:

If you travel more than four times within two zones per week, a period ticket is also the better option.

Single ticket 96 NOK x 4 trips x 4 weeks = 1584 NOK.

Period ticket 30 days costs 1213 NOK.

We have analyzed extensive data from our system to facilitate the easiest possible travel for our passengers. Special attention has been given to the travel patterns of commuters to minimize the number of passengers crossing zone borders when traveling to and from work. We also hope that the zones are easier to understand.

The zone structure is determined by the County Council and is politically established, as is the fare level (price per zone).

No, the ticket in the FRAM app or on your travel card is purchased for use in a specific zone (or zones). If you have a ticket in the app or on your travel card, it will not light up green on the reader/scanner on board if you board in a zone for which you do not have a ticket.

On bus journeys during Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays (with the exception of May 17th), you, as an adult or senior, can bring up to four children under 18 years of age for free, as long as the travel distance is the same and within one zone.

You can purchase a regular single ticket in the app and scan the ticket as usual, or buy it on board from the driver (note that this incurs an additional charge of 20 NOK on the price).

In Møre og Romsdal, almost all buses and boats are equipped with card terminals, and you can also pay with cash. However, we prefer that you purchase tickets in advance through the app or online store!

The onboard surcharge is a measure to ensure that public transport runs more punctually. Therefore, it's important that as many people as possible buy tickets in advance. This way, everyone can reach their destination more quickly—and it’s cheaper. 

Residents of Rindal and Heim can travel on certain routes operated by AtB using a shared ticketing system. This collaboration allows you to use a single ticket for travel on both FRAM and AtB services, making it easier for passengers to transfer between different transport systems.
